Jury service

I have jury service next week and am lucky in that work are paying me. What would you do on the days when you are not required to go to court? I think I might have to wait around for a phone call in the morning each day which tells me what to do and whether I am needed that day

You usually know the night before if you’re needed. If I wasn’t needed on a day, I went to work. If I got sent away mid-morning, I went to work. If I got sent away after lunch, I went home.

We were told each day if we would be needed the next day and exactly what time.
I had arranged with my manager that if there was a day when I wasn’t needed, I would work (as you won’t get paid by the court for that day)
