Resigning twice

Long story short, I quit my job as things are pretty bad.. it’s known for being a shitty place to work, my manager is a bully the list goes on. However, I retracted my resignation which the top boss accepted as I naively thought things would get better and with everything going on through it wasn’t the best time to leave secure employment, however things have got increasingly worse with my manager, he’s just a plain bully which the boss is aware of but turns a blind eye too... I have been offered another role but I need help in resigning again as I’m terrified of the reaction and if this will impact future references. Has anybody here resigned twice from the same role?

Yep similar situation to you - handed notice in due to bullying boss and was persuaded by her boss to stay and steps would be taken.

12 months later it was just as bad so I found another job and left.

I told them it was down to the opportunity that I couldn't turn down (it was, but had it not been for bullying boss I might have more seriously considered turning it down!)

I would say you're really excited about the mea opportunity & the change/challenge of it. Say that you have fully considered the situation & this time your resignation is final.

It's really common if someone has resigned and then been persuaded or bribed to stay, they leave in a few months anyway. Just resign again, try to find a positive reason to give, such as career progression, and don't worry about it.

What's the worst that can happen? Bully boss acts like a shit, but at least this way you only have to get through a month of it.
