Switchboard interview, help please :)

any help? It's only a switchboard operator interview. I currently do the similar kind of job but with less responsibility.

I had a interview for the NHS before and it was awful so trying to not let that happen again.

I have a friend who works in a large London hospital in the Comms Dept (so, obviously 'switchboard'). I know it can get a little hectic as she sometimes has to assist with mobilising staff to get to medical emergencies in the hospital and help with mobilising again in cases of major accidents when her hospital is one of the designated hospitals to take incoming emergency patients.

She's done it now for over 5 years and finds it stressful at times but very rewarding.

Like any job interview I would suggest...

Be confident
Lots of eye contact
Tell them you are keen on the new challenge and eager to learn
Have at least 2 questions to ask about the job itself - NOT about pay or other benefits
At the end of the interview tell them you are now, after interview, EVEN MORE INTERESTED in the role

Good luck. You didn't say when the interview is but hope you will give an update when you can. Smile
