For 15 years I've worked as part of teams. It's ideal, we share the workload, if I need to be off at short notice my works covered and I don't have to dread what I'll be returning to as everything runs smoothly. When I finish work I switch off from it all 100%.
I now have a job interview for a clerk where, if successful, I would be responsible for pretty much everything with no support. The prospect of this both excites and unnerves me as, aside from all the plus points I just gave before, I'd love more control in my work.
It's definitely a step up (and to the side) career wise. It would give me a boost and likely open up opportunities in the long term. The money and hours are also brill. But my work life balance right now is great....
Any advice from anyone who has moved up the ladder from quite a stress free job?
