Hello I would be grateful for any advice from HR experts or those who have been in a similar situation.

I work a 30 hour office admin job. Recently when people have left my work place the job hasn't been replaced but shared between people. Let's call her Ellie. Ellie who does a 13 hour role. Ellie is not being replaced . I have been asked to take on Ellie's work in my normal working hours 30. Now I'm quick at my job I could definitely help but I have no experience in this role. I have brought this up to mangagement. I have had a half day handover to this role (they knew four weeks ago she was leaving) I explained that having been shown I do not understand and asked manager to sit in with me whilst being shown. We went over and over it and I don't let's say get it. I have said I will try my best. Now I put in writing to management and business owners I'm willing to take on extra work listed my experience qualifications and things I feel confident in doing perhaps I could do instead to help. I have been told no. No matter how much logic I apply. I'm certain manager (new) has it in for me. There are other staff in building who a) have experience in said role b) have spare capacity. Despite this they are adamant I must do it. I have not even brought up the hours or how I'm going to do it. My main concern is no experience and training. Now said role is related to income and so if not done correctly can have consequences.

Where do I stand with this I've told them and put in writing I have no experience am not confident and a quick handover on the day the person leaves is not sufficient. When it transpires I can't keep up with the work and/or I've not done it correctly what is the likely outcome .

The extra job is not in my JD not what I applied for and not what I've done for last three years .
