Sickness

My partner has been off for a few weeks sick & is returning to work next week. Sick note ends on 22/02. Working week is 40 hours over 5 days.
Question is I’m understanding it as Monday he’s still classed as off sick he would go to work for 4 days that week and be off for 2 days.
However his manager has stated his normal day off was for Monday so he will be put down for day off that day and not sick.
Is that right?

Would that mean he then works Tues to Sat or he still works only Tues to Fri but is fully paid for Monday (rather than ssp).

He said he would put his normal day off as the Monday and Tuesday & he would have to work Wednesday-Sunday.
So even though his sick note ends on Monday his manager has said he’ll put it as a day off and not sick.
Completely confused

You can use leave to offset sick and be paid in full but I don’t it can be imposed. Would the rota have normally worked out like this?

No manager gets to decide when the days off will be. But my question is if my partners sick note is valid for 22/02, can his manager put it as day off (so he won’t be paid for this) or not?

I don’t think so , unless he agrees.
