Just as above really

I am interested in putting a request in and get the information but worry about line manager/team finding out.

I will dare admit this - it’s the civil service

It would depend on what you were requesting - presumably your line manager would hold data on yourself which could only be accessed by it being requested from them by whoever is collating the data?

Is it a request to your own department? Would your line manager be the one who would have to provide the information to answer your request?
If not, I don't see how they would find out.

Ask your union for advice as they may have been through this before with a member?

Thank you for replying

Seems like they will find out...

As I understand it, usually people ask for SAR when there is a grievance or a problem then it doesn’t matter if line manager finds out

For many reasons not part of the union
