So I work in a relatively basic entry level type role in small team which is currently just me and my line manager. The manager is leaving soon and looking at the job description and advert for a replacement the section about line management responsibilities is left blank as well as there been no mention about supervisory experience required in essential criteria (it was in the previous version which i've been able to find).

There has been clear detail about what will happen in the gap between recruiting a replacement and the current manager leaving, when ive raised this plus i've noticed many of our team tasks are been reallocated to other departments.

I have been at the organisation under 2 years so i am quite worried its leading up to them getting rid of me. Its not a situation I've been in before, so should I openly ask if my job is secure or mention the new job advert?

Ask! Go to your line manager's boss and ask them what the plan for your role is.
