30 hours funded childcare eligibility

Hi, can anyone shed any light on this for me please? I've been googling and not getting very far! Does a bursary for a pg dip traineeship count as being eligible for 30 hours funding? The programme is full time- thus the need for childcare! DH works full time. TIA

Is there not a contact at your local council you can ask? Ours are quite helpful with this sort of query.

If your bursary is a student grant from the government you can apply for a childcare grant i think

Do you earn a minimum of the equivalent of 16 hours at minimum wage? It will be about £135 a week.

Usually being a student of any kind means that you won't be eligible apparently- some exceptions for eg I'm a pg student but employed FT by an NHS trust so have employment status rather than student. If you phone your local authority childcare line they should know, or put the details into the 30 hour funding eligibility online

Thank you, i think I would be classed as a student as I will need to resign from my current post to do the traineeship, albeit within the same LA. I will call the childcare team at my LA thank you! I didn't know about a childcare grant, perhaps that would be the route.
