Looking for work abroad

I have a work question, sort of about visas. I'm UK and looking for a new job overseas, multiple locations so this isn't specific to one country.
If the job advert says "must have the legal right to live and work in xx country", what do I say to this? Is it no, because I'm British and would need to apply for a visa, or is it yes because if I applied for a visa I would get one?

I'm a Brit living in the EU. When I see this in job ads in my country, it means must be a legal resident in that country. Legal residency gives me the right to work.

It's a no. You don't currently have the right to work in that country.

Oh, ok, that makes things difficult I suppose (damn brexit!) Thanks for clarifying though.
