Hi everyone,

Nc for this. My dh has a notification on the app to self isolate for 7 days on Thursday so he's self isolating in our bedroom and main bathroom until then.

I'm vulnerable in cat 6 so that's why he's staying separate. Now, I'm due in work over the next 4 days and will have to ring tomorrow to let them know.
.
I'm just a bit confused what they might say? I can prove he's had the notification etc. We have a 2 year old and 1 year old, and work 4 on 4 off opposite to each other so there's no room for manoeuvre.

I'm just worried I'll get in trouble but there's not much I can do

Has anyone been in a similar position?

Kind of similar. Just tell them and hope for the best.

Is there not a legislation now that says your work cannot penalise you due to covid isolation? Obviously you'll have to isolate yourself as you're clinically vulnerable but you also have childcare issues. I'm pretty sure they can't penalise you for that but may tell you to take unpaid parental leave

I think most people have just muddled along in this situation, unless your dp is actually unwell he looks after the kids as usual. My DP has had a lot of exposures at work (healthcare) and we have not really changed our behaviour in the house unless he's had symptoms.

Technically you don’t need to isolate; but I understand you might want to because you’re vulnerable. Does your employer know
About your health situation?

Do you work from home?

You don't have to isolate and as such this is a childcare issue. So you need to either resolve this or request annual leave from work.
