Sickness Record: Mandatory Covid Isolation Almost Complete But Still Unwell?

I recently tested positive for Covid and my (11 days) isolation period will soon end. Prior to this I was feeling the effects of burnout. I am not sure if it could have been related but I have not had time off prior to testing positive. (Last recorded sickness was 18 months ago - 4 days for D&V).

The problem is that I am not sure I feel well enough to go back to work. I am still spending a lot of time in bed feeling completely drained. I don't know if it's a byproduct of fatigue but I am more absentminded than usual. I've been having trouble with migraines and diahorrea so have done my best to stay hydrated and rest. I am still a little 'chesty' and cannot taste or smell anything but the fever and coughing have completely resolved.

My worry is that I might make a mistake at work or need to take a separate episode of sickness due to not being fully recovered.

My current 'sickness' is not counted as it mandatory isolation but if I need to stay off for longer how is this likely to be recorded?

I am committed to putting my health first - I just wondered how this would affect me as I've rarely taken time off and it's always been less than one week.

Thank you.

Where I work, you'd be expected to get a sick note from the doctor (as it is more than you can self certify). It may trigger a concern with HR according to their usual procedure but I'd fully expect it to be accepted as not an issue due to the effect covid can have.

So this is literally me too right now

Almost two weeks post covid positive

Should be going back tomorrow

But so unwell
Still so tired
Can't focus
Can't think straight

Was promising work I would be up and able for it all tomorrow

No chance
Feel awful

But I'm not pushing myself back in
Will ring doc tomorrow and get another sick cert
Possibly for two weeks

Please go easy on yourself

I have heard many say it can take at least three weeks for your energy to get back to normal

Also someone at work said covid sickness not being monitored in same way as other absences?? No idea if that is the case to be fair
