I've just got a new job, does anyone know about being paid 4 weekly? Do you get paid on the same date every month? I'm still going to get UC as I'm on a joint claim with my partner and we have a 2 year old, I'll be earning about 385 every 4 weeks starting off slow till my other half get a job, anyone know anything about this? Thankyouuu

Congrats on the new job! You won’t be paid on the same date, and there will be one month where you get two pays (one at start, one at end) which will make your earnings look higher that month for any claims, so you may need to budget for that.

Thank you for replying and thank you am very excited! And I feel like being paid on random days of the month would be a pain lol, I've heard about that month with two payments and it's worrying me as I'm on UC and I'm starting off slow so I'm only on 12 hours a week, hoping it doesn't mess with that too much!

The 4 weekly pay thing caused me to be hit with a tax bill because apparently I didn't pay enough. I paid what my company said I should but because I got paid twice one month it really messed things up. If you are only working 12 hours you should be okay because you'll be earning below the threshold for tax. The whole not getting paid the same day every month is also a ball ache, I started off getting paid at the beginning of the month last year and ended up getting paid towards the end by December, you'll get used to it though and learn how to save for direct debits etc.

All seems so complicated lol, Thankyou for replying and hope it comes more understanding as I go along, hoping I don't get effected too much with the 2 payments in one month thing, worrying about that hahah
