Hey , my daughters friend asked me if she's allowed to take a second job , she is currently furloughed from a full time position ( 40hrs)

And she's just taken on a full time position else where .

I am unsure and I can't make sense of the info , I did say it looks like if she has a part time job say 16 hrs she's allowed to take another part time job.
Am I wrong ?

As far as I'm aware, it's allowed

It was written in to my furlough agreement that it wasn't allowed, not even voluntary work.

She's need to check her contract. Generally speaking she can only work OUTSIDE of the hours she would normally work at her furloughed job but not sure who is checking that but she would be taking the piss somewhat to be paid by the government (taxpayer) and then working full time elsewhere and therefore earning more money than she would have done if not for Covid......

It depends on the terms of furlough where she works

The furlough agreement will likely say she needs to remain available to return to work immediately on request so she couldn’t take another job with any notice period.

If she does it , she'll be getting 834 a week so I think the greed in hers speaking volumes .
I will tell her though .
Thank you
