Let's homeschool the Government?!

Hi
Can you meet the expectations of your employer and keep homeschooling until Feb half-term (or beyond)? Hmm I'm sure many people here are really struggling to care for kids and hold down jobs.

It makes me angry to think how things might be different if more (male) politicians had been actively involved in their own family's childcare over the years. Surely then they'd know how impossible this is. The government needs homeschooling?!

I'm a founding WEP member (Women's Equality Party). This weekend we're launching a campaign to homeschool the government. We want to share the real impact of their COVID policies.

We're asking everyone who cares about this to take a photo/make a short video of how you'd teach the government to be better for women. Share it on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #homeschooled at 3pm on Saturday 30th Jan.

We want to show that there are better ideas to meet the needs of women and families e.g. legal right to furlough for parents, nursery bailouts, SEISS for freelancers etc.

Why not become an online activist for this important subject? Join us on Saturday!

Keep going, you're doing great!

Fantastic idea! Thank you so much for sharing. I'll definitely take part on Twitter!

Yes Rachel! I wish that we had more lived experience in our Government so that they can understand how non-sensical some of the stuff they do is. It's like back in lockdown 1 when no one mentioned nurseries and childcare.

This is so important, great to see a political party taking action on this as mums' and children's voices have been largely unheard in this pandemic
