DD was shielding during lockdown 1 but has since been received treatment and recovered from her illness. She didn’t receive a letter for this lockdown but her boss has told her she can’t work as it is not safe and she needs to shield. She wants to return to have something to occupy her mind she struggles with lockdown. Can her boss do this?

He's probably arsecovering. Is she furloughed? Can she get her GP to write a letter stating she's no longer vulnerable and is safe to go to work?

Is there work for her to go back to? Is she on furlough at the moment?

@unfortunateevents yes she is on furlough but her work is operating as normal they have increased workload and have employed new staff recently.

She needs to discuss the RA and how they arrived at the decision she is safer at home. Have they all the information they need and is your DD aware of all the risks and the guidance they have referred to?

You can part furlough now, so how about suggesting a staggered return, or PT return? Furlough is only for when the post isn’t possible due to Covid I thought, so not sure about the legality of her bosses decision?

Sorry, I don’t mean post isn’t needed, I mean work isn’t possible. Which it doesn’t sound like it is in this case.
