Keeping in touch during furlough

I'm furloughed from work due to shielding and just wondered if my manager should be contacting me during furlough and if so how often?

I don't think there's any requirement to but they should really keep in touch from a employee wellbeing point of view I think.
My employer does regular Teams calls to all furloughed employees to keep them up to date, and line managers make regular contact with those furloughed too.
If you are feeling left out of things maybe contact them?

What do you mean by “should be”? If you mean are they legally obligated then no of course there is no such legislation. If you mean from the perspective of good practice / good management then I would like to think so. But you can equally try to take steps to keep communication lines open

@Aprilx sorry yes I meant from good practise not legally. I haven’t made contact myself, my anxiety is pretty bad at the moment so don’t really have the confidence to do it.

My staff were only furloughed for a couple of months, but I was in touch with them every few days. I think everyone is anxious just now, having a chat with them about what our situation was seemed the right thing to do
