Worried how work will respond to pregnancy

I’ve been in my company for 7 months and have found out I’m pregnant. It was planned but not to happen this quickly.

I’m dreading telling work as I just don’t know how they will react. They’ve been speaking recently about giving me opportunities and looking to spend a big amount of money to train me up in different areas and they are wanting to put plans in place for September onwards.

I know I will be on maternity leave come then so I know it’s going to really interfere with their plans.

I am worried as I’ve worked so hard to get to where I have given my age and the career field I am in and I’m just worried now that the opportunities will be given to someone else and then I won’t be able to progress..
I’ve heard of so many women who are treated different upon return from maternity.

Equally I’m of the mindset that if they choose to treat me differently it’s somewhere I don’t want to work anyways.

Any women got any advice of their storiesSmile either positive or negative

You will feel much better once you share your news. Honestly, the worry about telling your employer pregnant is worse than actually telling them you're pregnant. I've been there.

In regards to your career, if you want to make it work you will. But things might change once you have your baby and you might find your career isn't as important as you thought.

People always worry what will happen when they have a baby, but babies aren't actually babies for very long, so it doesn't necessarily have to mean the end of your career, perhaps just a career break.

Congratulations on your pregnancy 🎉
