End of interview questions for a job with no progression?

Ive been on a career break for 5 years now so I've lost a lot of confidence and brain function it feels like!

I'm interviewing for an extremely part time job at my local church that I attend. I already volunteer for a different role and have done for a few years. Know the vicar and parish warden very well.

I know quite a lot about the job already, I'm just wondering what to ask at the end of the interview because I don't have any questions about the role, career progression will not apply and I already know about the culture and asking what the vicar loves about his job seems a bit daft when we've talked a lot.

Any ideas for some filler questions?

Are there any plans for the future that might affect my job?

partyatthepalace · 15/01/2021 02:16

Well I would ask about plans for the future of the organisation, and I’d ask if there’s any directions they’d like the role to branch into (if someone already does it). Not to have any particular response but so you sound interested.

Any changes they would like to see made or what their hopes for the role are?

“Is there anything I should know about the role that will come as a surprise to someone like me who has a lot of knowledge about the church?”

What would be my priorities for the first few weeks/months?

You could ask what, in an ideal world, they hope the person will bring to the role and what it would add to the church life and community.

You could ask if there are different planned pathways for the job so that it can flourish if there is long term lockdown or if lockdown suddenly gets lifted.

What in their view would success look like after you had been six months in the role? (assuming that hasn't come up during the interview itself).
