Can anyone in NHS HR advise me re:mat leave and covid

This is about of a random question but I'm hoping someone here might have an answer...when on maternity leave (NHS) is there any way I can do some additional work in the fight against covid without penalizing my maternity benefits? Baby is 6m and I'm definitely not able to return to my actual job yet but I could do some weekend shifts as a vaccinator. Normally under mat leave conditions I think I wouldn't be allowed to take on any extra work. I just keep reading in the press about all the strain they're under and although I couldn't do a lot - probably only a half day at the weekends - I could do something. I work for a community social enterprise type org which is contracted to provide community NHS services rather than working for an NHS trust itself.

I've volunteered to help through St John's ambulance.
You need to be registered as a HCP, so nurse, physio, optometrist, dentist etc.

The minimum is 2 days a month.
