am thinking of doing the paying your employees/how to use the free cd rom course but wondering how basic it is? i dont want to have to arrange childcare if its really simple and i can work it out myself. however i also dont want to be completely out of my depth if i dont do it. need to know as committee is taking over playgroup in jan and we will be responsible for payroll which none of us have ever done before

if you are doing payroll then I think it is worth doing. We were doing payroll without it and got in a bit of a mess. You need to keep your eye on the ball with NIS and tax thresholds and also people doing more than one job. Also p45 and p60.

I am pretty sure all that would be covered by the course.
