Has anyone ever had an NHS interview via MS Teams?

I have been invited to interview via MS Teams.

However, I have not been given an MS Teams link or invitation.

Has anyone got any idea how this works?

I've never had to use Teams, Zoom or any other meetings/group chats app, so I have no idea how this works.

We use Teams at work - but not NHS. You should get an email with a link to the meeting room that you can click. There is also a phone link so that you can call in from a phone line.

I did, the link was below the main body of the email message in what looked like the info beneath a signature. You'd be best off downloading MS Teams first and having it on your computer. And I had to open an account to log in. If you've got Skype though I think you can log in that way.

I’m not NHS but in my work teams is our usual.

They have to send you a link for you to join a meeting which would be the usual way. When is the interview?

I definitely recommend you doing a practice call with someone so you feel comfortable with it, making sure you know basics (there’s nothing too difficult on Teams though)

I have been an interviewer for an NHS job on MS teams. At my trust the initial email advising that you have an interview on date at y time is automated from the recruitment system. I then manually sent emails with the meeting appointment link in them to the candidates the day before the interviews.

I had a meeting with school and camhs on teams..

Download the app today..

You should get an invite

If you haven't used this platform before definitely do a practice run with a friend.
Remember to look at your camera NOT your screen, and raise your laptop so the view is not up your nose/ of your ceiling.
Good luck!

Thank you.

I'll re-read the email I was sent to look more closely for the link.

I’ve sat on interview panels (NHS) over Teams. It works pretty well (and I say that as someone who loathes communicating over Teams/Zoom!). Definitely do a few practice calls, and have them mute themselves whilst you’re talking, as this is what will happen in your interview. It can take some getting used to, to not hear get the verbal/audible feedback when you’re answering the question. I don’t agree with not looking at the screen - it’s natural to do that because you’re looking at the people you’re talking to - it’s not like being on TV! Make sure you know how to switch to gallery view, so that you can see all the interviewers, and if you are distracted by seeing your own face, there’s a setting where you can hide yourself, I think.

Good luck. 🙂

I did one for the first time recently with NHS Teams, and got the job!

Make sure you're in a spot with a good internet connection and make sure the light is in front of you, not behind you.

Dress how you would for a normal interview.

Good luck xx

Check your junk mail. DH did an NHS team interview and was worried as he hadn’t had the link. It had gone into junk!

tass1960 · 20/12/2020 13:37

I did - got the link by email from HR. It didn't work too well and we finished it off on the phone. I was worried that it was my internet but now know having been in post for nearly 4 months that it was the line manager's laptop. It's still shit too.

Gingernaut · 22/12/2020 12:05

Panic over.

The computer system refused to work with MS Teams, so they sent me a Zoom link a couple of hours before the meeting.

It went OK, didn't get the job though. 😪
