Thanks all, I'm really eager to work with people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia but I haven't the foggiest about where to start!

Love to you all. My mum is in a dementia home, and I honestly don't know where we would be without the love of the carers x

I have been a carere in a care home. My qualification is actually child orientted but a lot of sckills are transeferable and I had worked with adults with learning disabilities.

If you want to work with dementia, plenty of jobs in care, also if there's a hospital near you , join the nurse bank .
Contact age concern or think it maybe dementia friends. Offer to be a pen pal with someone with dementia.
Find a local day centre, some are back up running and volunteer.
A lot of hospitals now are taking back on the voluntary workers as well.
Google is your friend for services near to you.

You should train as a mental health nurse. Dementia is a big part of this. It's a great time to do it, depending on your circumstances, as we currently have bursaries available for student mental health nurses
