Teaching English as a second language online

Hi does anyone have any advice about which online TEFL course to do please and whether teaching English as a second language online is an option worth considering? I have read that it can be quite volatile and insecure if employed by some of the companies? Many thanks.

If you want to make a career out of EFL then dodgy online tefl courses are worthless. They may get you online teaching jobs for dubious (usually) Chinese schools but wont get you much further.
If it's the online schools you want be prepared to teach hours that fit with the time zone most of the students will be in.
If you want to do more in EFL then the investment in the Cambridge CELTA or Trinity TESOL is essential. At the moment the CELTA can be taken purely online and some centres may still be offering blended/face to face courses.
For obvious reasons the TEFL market is pretty limited at the moment though jobs are still being advertised in many countries. In the UK many language schools have either gone out of business or very close to and a lot of people have lost their jobs.
