What happens during your notice period?

I handed my notice in a 5 weeks ago, and it was accepted. Since then I've heard nothing. It's a three month notice period. What kinds of things can I expect to happen before I leave?

Not much. Confirmation of end date and what holidays you've accrued to be paid (or that they'd prefer you to take your leave before you finish).

What PP said. Plus your exit interview.

Manager should talk to you about a hand over plan probably

If you've got a three month notice period not a lot will happen for a while probably. You could talk to your manager about plans to replace you and whether he/she needs you to be doing anything in terms of handing over.

When I left a job I'd been at for a while my task for my notice period was to download my brain on to paper for my boss. I had a lot of institutional knowledge.

Thanks. I’ve clarified what holidays I will accrued by my end date, but not heard anything from HR.
I’m also wondering what will happen with my work phone, laptop etc. Will they need to be posted off on my last day?

I guess you’re right, there are still weeks left.

Yes, same here. I was all set to do this, but it’s not been mentioned and so I find myself wondering “why bother” when there’s plenty of my normal work to do.
