Can anyone help with working out a full time salary?

My DD takes home £800 a month for 18 hours work a week.

How would you work out what her gross annual salary would be if she worked full time?

You need to work out the gross first. Then take the part time hours as a % of full time and work salary out on same rate.

Question is what would fill time hours be? Could range from 35-40 per week depending on the company which would give you different figures.

If that month is in fact 4 weeks then an annual salary, assuming 4 weeks holidays, is approx £20,000.

If it's a 5 week month then approx salary is £16,000.

Both calculated on a 37.5 hr working week which is pretty standard.

Lots of options at the top

Start by looking at the gross salary on the payslip, not the take home pay. Then work out how many hours were worked in that pay period, to get the per hour gross rate. Then multiply that by the number of hours full time would be, assuming it is the same pay rate. Then run that number through a PAYE calculator to obtain the take home pay, after deductions including Pension, as currently she is probably below pension auto-enrolment threshold so may not be paying in to workplace pension.

I make it £24k.
£800/ 18 hours X 37.5 hrs is £1666.67 take-home which is £20k net, £24k gross.

PontiacBandit · 25/11/2020 18:25

Scratch that, its £20k.

Oh yes I forgot about tax which is a bit embarrassing if you knew my current job! Angry

It depends what full time is - 40 hours? 37.5 hours? Different organisations vary.
