Does anybody know what employers can see on a credit check?

I currently work in financial services and I'm due my background checking. Since starting my job I have fallen into a bit of debt that Im currently paying off on repayment plans. I don't have any CCJs IVAs bankruptcy's etc, but I'm worried my employer will be able to see my current financial situation and I'll be disciplined and lose my job.

Does anybody have any experience as to how in depth they go? All it says is that it will be adverse financial checks. I'm so worried about this I feel sick Sad

Does your workplace have a "no fault admissions" type policy, where if you come to them to discuss any issues, they don't hold it against you unless you've been acting unlawfully or unethically?

@SoddingWeddings Hi thanks for replying. I don't think so, I've never heard of it

At our place they use Experian so everything you would be able to see on your Experian report. I think it is possible to view your report for free if you are worried.

Unfortunately in Financial services they do need to do a thorough check. Debts alone aren’t too bad ( unless really high level vetting) but repayment plans might be an issue

@Hoppinggreen Oh god Sad I don't know if I'm best saying anything to HR first then before they run the check. Terrified I'm going to lose my job
