Freelance fee - content/comms

Hi

Would anyone share what they think a reasonable daily rate for a freelance content/comms person would be - offering social media, newsletter and other content-writing support to a big organisation?

We paid someone £35/hr we wanted her to give us some pointers on how to market ourselves on linkedIn & Twitter - she offered to write articles for us but we didn't expect her to be able to write original thought pieces on very technical issues. She was quite insistent that she could research stuff - as she was great at marketing and PR - it needed more than that!
