I’m due to have my first ever 1:1.
What can I expect ?

Difficult without knowing the industry. But I’m my one to ones my boss goes through my stats and performance (we’re meant to have 1:1s monthly but working from home and everything going on this isn’t happening).
We also chat about how I’m getting on generally, both in work and personally. What my aims are going to be for the next month and what I’d like to work on/ achieve.

They vary from company to company.
Some are really formal, such as setting targets, outlining work for the month ahead, talk about how you're doing.

Always be prepared and take something to talk about, use it as your opportunity to get the information you need.

Mine at my current organisation is really informal and lead by me, so go in prepared to have to do all the talking. Think of things you'd like to do in the next month, opportunities for development or training, what you think went well and not well. There's no harm in preparing for that information in case.
