After one whole year of promises (I was on ML but was promised to come back to said role). I finally have a date when I'll move to my promoted role. I'm not getting a new contract but I'm getting a payrise is that normal? It's definitely a different type of role. (I went from entry level to accounts manager) with other bits thrown in. I'll also be using my very own skillset (languages) which my colleague who will get promoted at the same time won't. Are we supposed to get the same salary? I have no clue but I welcome the change with a smile.

sounds normal to me, whenever ive been promoted, ive stayed on the same original contract with a payrise and a letter to confirm new title

Better to have a new contract but a letter will suffice. Make sure you have a copy of your new role profile and tittle attached to it

And what about salary can it be negotiated? I wouldn't think so.

I think salary negotiations depend on your employee. If the language is not a requirement in the person spec I'm not sure you'll get extra for that but you may if you've got more experience.

depends on the contract, im on better terms and conditions than some of my collegaues due to length of service if i were to change contracts id lose out on enhaned redundancy and sickpay
Fressia123 · 06/11/2020 11:25

Terms will be the same, that's why it's the same contract. Job spec changes though and I'm waiting for that one to come through.

@chipsandpeas

It is continuous service despite a different contract as long as with the same company
