I really hope someone can help me.

My Ex and I are currently going through the court system with regards to custody of our son. I was under the impression a final order had been made. But we had to go back to address a very small matter which was not signed off within the final order.

Custody was agreed for every other weekend. Which he proposed and I agreed to.

However, on returning to court. He is now asking for extended time with our son. I did not know this was happening or had been made aware of this.

He keeps calling me lazy and telling me to get a job etc. Even though I am the soul provider for our daughter with him only working for the past 3 months. Our son is almost 2!

Unbeknown to him I have in fact been working for 5 months 9-5 three days a week. I have our son in childcare. All of which i pay for myself.

My reasoning for not telling him I am in work:

  • It does not interfere with current contact agreement.
  • I pay for it myself.
  • I feel he will use it as a reason to reduce his CSA which is the bare minimum of £9 per week at the minute.
  • My work contract is only for 6 months and I fear I may then be unemployed and back to square one with everything.
  • I do not want him to know anything about my life. All i get is constant abuse off him.

Does anyone know if i have to tell him?

If he could ask the court to now have our son whilst i work?
(even though he lives over 300 miles away)
The travel would completely ruin our sons routine.

I am totally worried xx

Your business isn't his business imo.
He has no need to know the ins and outs of your life.
I am quite certain he doesn't share his..

Currently he is ensuring I know he is working. Being all made up. When it’s the first time he has not worked in years.
I didn’t think I had to tell him but I am worrying if the court may see it as a reason to grant him more contact.
As in rather he have our son than him being in nursery!
So confused/annoyed by it all x
