Applying for both Sr and Jr roles at the same company

How does that look overall? I really like the company so I don't mind getting either of them. I wrote separate CLs although I think the system didn't attach one properly (but they're both part of my profile so I think I'm covered).

I did this. Had been Acting Deputy Head of Dept for about 12 months, and both Deputy and Head were advertised at the same time. I applied for both, the interview experience for Head was really valuable even though I didn’t get it, and then I was in an even better position for the Deputy interviews a month later. It shows that you’re ambitious, and as long as you tailored your application to each role, they may well have different recruitment teams anyway. Good luck!

All supporting documents are centralised (as far as I can tell) so used the same CV but different cover letter. I'd love to work there in either capacity. I think if they're smart enough they'd create a hybrid role (wishful thinking!)

I would say it's all in the cover letter, there is a balance between seeming keen and passionate to work within a certain company, and desperate for any job. If you are qualified and have the experience for the higher job, the bigger challenge would actually probably be showing you have a genuine interest in doing the lower job, and aren't just applying as a safety net or a second best- but it sounds like that shouldn't be too much of an issue as you do genuinely seem to be interested in both.

I'm qualified for both for different reasons although I definitely have what it takes to do the senior one. The main difference is that the jr one asks for language skills that I have, thus why a hybrid would make sense.

Well you never know OP, they might consider it if it makes sense for their business. As the jobs are distinctly different it seems I think you'll be fine, good luck!

Thank you for kind words
