Hi - it depends where you are, what kind of place you want to work in, and maybe what kind of experience you have. The last time I temped, I was living in SW London and had quite recent experience of secretarial/admin jobs. I registered with bothCrone Corkill and ProspectUs. CC paid better, with most jobs in the City. It was okay, but not the kind of thing I wanted to end up doing permanently. ProspectUs specialises in sending people to not-for-profit workplaces like the NHS, local government, charities etc. I did quite a bit of work at one hospital near Kings Cross, and at a charity next to St George's, Tooting (so a lot easier for me to get to).

Someone else recommended a different agency if I had wanted to work in media-type organisations in and around Covent Garden, but I can't remember what they were.
