Hi all,

I am studying AAT Level 3 in the mid-40s. I am looking for a job in the accounting industry without a relevant experience but most companies are looking for experienced individuals. My enthusiasm is about to drop, more I research more difficult to get into.

Does anyone has succeeded? I need some motivations, please.

Thank you

Following with interest as i'm in a similar situation, early 40s too. Just finished level 2 and enthusiasm has definitely dropped. I keep thinking i have no chance getting a job in the field as will be competing with loads of people with relevant experience who have now been forced into the job market by Covid. I worked as a healthcare assistant but took up a call centre job just to have some non-care experience on my CV, been doing this for 5 months now and the stress is killing me. Having to speak to people nonstop on the phone is giving me really bad anxiety and considering packing it in and going back to my former role, maybe train as a nurse instead knowing jobs are almost certainly guaranteed afterwards.
Sorry this is not what you need to hear right now but hopefully someone comes along who can motivate us both.
