Trying to find out the policy on annual leave on the new the scheme. On 80% furlough we topped up employee pay to 100% for annual leave (i.e paid 20% difference) but can't find any info under the new job retention scheme if employees are on reduced pay. Does anyone know?

Full details aren't out yet about the Job Support Scheme unfortunately. I assume that the government won't fund annual leave, so if an employee takes a week off they won't be eligible for the scheme as they won't be working 33% of their hours. But we need the full guidance, which will no doubt arrive approximately 37 seconds prior to the new scheme commencing...

We were discussing the exact same thing yesterday in my office and the answer is, we don't know yet.

Thank you flowery and Comefromaway, it is rather vague at the moment. Payroll use to be so seamless pre Covid!
