WFH when child is self isolating

My 3yo DC was in contact with a positive case at nursery and has to self isolate for 14 days. I work full time from home and am worried about fitting in work and childcare (I have 2 older DC too ). DH who also WFH is obviously sharing childcare but there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day . Has anyone else experienced this and did your employer make you work every hour of your contract ?TIA

We've had this a few times since nurseries reopened. Have juggled the hours between us, so employers have been okay with us working flexible hours but no less hours than ask we usually would if that makes sense.

Eg I work 10am-2pm then 5pm-10pm
DH works 6am-10am and 2pm-5pm and after bedtime if needed. Then we cover each other's ad hoc calls if needed (but try to avoid calls in our childcare shifts). Hard work and not sustainable long term but for 2 weeks it's fine.

Emergency childcare/dependents' leave could cover a day or two (more if you're lucky)
