I've been thinking about retraining as a midwife for quite some time but I've got a few worries such as my age- I'm nearly 37 so getting on a bit. My brain/ memory isn't what it used to be so my worry is learning a brand new role at this age with a shit brain. I'm a caring and compassionate person and I feel so drawn to this job but I know it's got its lows too. Could any midwives give me some insight into the job, the highs/ lows, pros/ cons please. Ideally I'd want to start training next year. I'm in Scotland- central belt. Thank you.
