8 days shy of 2yr employment

I was going to write a thread asking for advice on wrongful dismissal but there's no point ....

8th October 2018 was when I started work ....

I was just 8 days ... 8 DAYS !!! from the new Golf 1.6 GTi and the breast enlargement (and months of sleepless nights, a bucket load of stress and worry and a huge bill for solicitors fees)

I actually feel that they have done me a huge favour. I would have stayed working there, unhappy and under appreciated because it was local and the hours fitted around my young children, but the atmosphere some days was awful and I use to tell my friends that I felt 'like a bastard at a family reunion'.

I will miss the lovely customers though; most of whom were elderly. I'd like to think that my smile and friendly conversations gave them a smile, especially during these difficult times, and that I will be missed - for about a week 😂

I know they will be talking about me, how lazy and inflexible I was, not available to work on the day I was moving house, but I shall hold my head up high as I skip past the shop, in the knowledge that I’m a good person ... far too good to be working with that shower of shite 😬

Have a lovely day MN xx

You have such a positive attitude, I am sure things will work out for you.

It reminds me of the LA I work for calculatedly dismissing my friend, in the same position as you, only days to go before attaining two years' employment.
The manager, whom I loathed, actually crowed about it. I do not wish her well, at all.
My friend went on to start her own successful business, through which she met her lovely husband. Smile

Well done for being so positive. It's their loss - you were good enough to work there for two years less 8 days but all of a sudden you're not???? What a holes. Sounds like there was the classic "toxic clique" operating there anyway

I do sound positive don't I 🤔 I'm waiting for the crash ....

I think that my face just didn't fit anymore, and that there was a clash of personalities with the manager, and the fact that he didn't have one !

The owner of the company was extremely rude to me on the phone and made a point of telling me that I was furloughed on a higher rate of wage as it was based on my previous weeks earning. Which showed that I had in fact been working extra hours, and had done on a regular basis, but she can't see that 🙄

I'm not sure whether to be a pain in her ass and ask her for written details of my dismissal, pointing out that I've never received an appraisal nor had any written warnings.

My 2 weeks notice will take me past the 8th October, the 2yr mark, but doesn't that count ??
