New furlough scheme

So I’m on furlough. A couple of weeks ago had discussions with work about my return when furlough ends in november.
They want to cut my hours by 1/3 as not enough work etc. That’s fine, we agreed I’d think about it and let them know end of their month what hours I wanted to do etc.

Now this new scheme has happened. Does this mean i go back as agreed on 66% hours and then they have to top up the 1/3rd of remaining hours as per the scheme or can they just opt to not take part in the scheme even though Im on reduced hours?
I was going to propse I go back on 50% hours and then with the top up they won’t be paying more than they were already proposing but I will get more as will get government top up.

They're not obliged to use the scheme, it's entirely up to them. If it benefits them, and meets the business needs, they probably will though.
