working part-time and smp helps

I currently work 12 hrs per week and bring home £78 a week

I have just found out i am pregant i know the comapany i work for all offers it's full time employees the basic leave - so i wondered if any one could give me an idea as to how much time off / pay i will recieve.

try this tool to work out your individual entitlement.

I think your earnings are too low to get SMP, but you qualify for up to a year off on maternity leave (unpaid) & may be eligible for Maternity Allowance (39wks) from DWP instead (there are links on the site to info about this)

jjt assuming your £78 a week is before tax, you don't earn enough for maternity pay, but if you have been working for 26 out of the 66 weeks before your due date (i.e. 6 months out of the 15 months before your due date, you should get Maternity Allowance.
