How long did it take for you to hear back if you have applied and carried out the online assessment/tests for police recruitment. Then how long after that did you get an interview?

I applied in the December and started the following October. It's a long old process.

Can you remember how long it was from assessment centre (sjt/competency based questions) etc to finding out if you passed? 😊

Nope, it was so long ago, sorry!

You need to have the patience of a saint

Another one to say it does seem to take forever!
It is tough when you are waiting though. I went for staff role. Even that took months.
Good luck!

Thanks for your replies. Have been told if we pass this and get interview etc, training is due to begin before March. Seems like such a dragged out process considering in our area they are constantly saying the are desperately in need in of staff.

That's actually quite quick.

Oh is it? I’m guessing as it’s all done online now too things are a bit different. As far as I’m aware the interview is also done via zoom aswell.

Ooh, I have been assessing these this week
Wonder if I had yours?

1Pinkfluffyelephant · 24/09/2020 19:23

@Hoppinggreen that would be really funny! Do you find people come across more nervous being recorded via webcam rather than doing it in person?

OP posts:
Hoppinggreen · 24/09/2020 19:54

No, I don’t think so
It’s difficult because I have a very narrow set of marking criteria and even if someone comes across really well if they don’t cover certain things in a certain way I have to give a low mark

1Pinkfluffyelephant · 24/09/2020 19:59

Yes I have heard it’s very specific as to what each section needs to cover etc. Just curious but I have been told to pass is anything over 50%... what would happen if the person came across really well and had years of specials or pcso experience but missed the mark by a 1 or 2 % would that still be an automatic fail or are you able to look at the bigger picture. How strict is strict (I’m just being nosey)

Sorry I don’t know. I just score my part and them move the candidates on to the next stage. I never actually know if they succeed but I do wonder
