doing a pilates class in work time - is this OK do you think?

I work F/T but we have flexi hours and it's not policed anymore now that we're all wfh. I normally start work at 8.30/9 and do my hours if not more. I'd like to start doing a pilates class with a friend 9.30-10.30 am about 10 mins walk from home. Do you think this is OK? I'd still do my full hours even if it meant working til 7pm. I need to tell me boss and I'm wondering if she's going to be funny about this. I just want to make this wfh work for me as otherwise I'll be stuck in the house all day every day and getting isolated.

Ask your boss first surely, if they are ok with it then off you go.

What does your contract say about your working hours, you have "flexi hours" but do you have core hours where you are expected to be at your desk?

Also, I was getting back issues a few years ago, and asked my company if I could take a slightly longer lunch hour to attend a pilates class and that was seen as an acceptable reason, so possibly if working from home means you don't have the correct setup then pilates might be a good idea Smile

I will ask my boss but she can be funny sometimes so I just wondered if I was being a bit cheeky. I guess this would be core hours but I think another person sees a personal trainer in the day but it's probably at lunch time. She takes 2 hours for that twice a week. I like the idea of saying it's for my sore back though (not my flabby belly!)

If I did flexi hours then rather than start work and then leave for a couple of hours I would just work from 11-7 on that day each week and no need to even mention your class.
