Redundancy

Hiya everyone!

So the large company I work for is making my position redundant (about 1,600 of us in this position). As is their company policy; they've offered myself and any others currently on maternity leave first pick of any "suitable" alternative roles. I say "suitable" because what I've been offered is a role with less hours and less pay to what I'm currently on, along with less responsibility. I've heard somewhere that they're supposed to offer you an alternative role that's with no less favourable terms to what you were on (or is that related to something else?).
I've already had a look at the ACAS website and can't seem to find anything. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
I'd like to add that I'm not ungrateful about being offered a role before everyone else, it's just we can't really afford for my hours or pay to be dropped down xx

Hi, sorry to hear that, I am afraid I don't know enough to answer your question but I recently rang ACAS and they were so helpful so I would call them. Good luck.
