Pinned all my hopes on getting this Civil Service job as a Work Coach. I know I could do it and would give it everything. Passed Judgement test but got an email to say I won't be called for interview. Guess my personal statement wasn't good enough... gutted. Ughhh bugger

Ask for feedback! And keep trying

Would love feedback - have been told they don't feedback before interview stage. I guess it's just a suck it up and try again.

Don't be too down. Sometimes it's more who you know rather than what you know.Flowers

Could you possibly receive informal feedback? I'd want to know why I wasn't asked to interview if I was certain I could do the job. Chin up and keep trying!

I don't think the CS do that. I'm guessing I was weakest on personal statement and the numbers were high. Doesn't make it easier to swallow! Thanks for the positivity everyone. It's appreciated x x

Did you ask them though? It might say somewhere they don’t provide feedback but I’m sure you could get some informal advice if you asked directly.

I got rejected for a job today too (also refuse to feedback so no idea if it’s skills or something silly!). It’s such a crappy feeling. Fingers crossed tomorrow we’ll bounce back and remember we’re awesome regardless of the job app...

@crazyotterlady

I work in the CS and if it’s any consolation OP, where I work they have dedicated managers that help people with their applications to move to other positions. So there’s a good chance you’ve been victim of that. There’s lots of movement between departments and very few successful candidates coming from external sources (apart from some customer service roles)
It was a Work Coach role and I presumed there were so many of these due to the new recruitment process. I def need to just pick my chin off the floor and get on with it. Just abit sad tonight.
