Secondment Query

Yes it's an exciting one!

I'm confused as there is a vacancy on NHS jobs site that I'm looking at applying for.
However it as advertised as a secondment? Surely this would only be for internal candidates in this case, however it's on the external site..
Any ideas?
Thank you.

It's quite common for candidates to be seconded between different NHS organisations (technically 'external' which is why it'll be on the public NHS site, even though it's internal to the NHS as a whole - if it was on the trust's internal board then only candidates from that trust could apply).

Less common but possible are secondments from other parts of the public sector, local government, civil service, universities, even private sector, so if your employer would be prepared to support a secondment it may be worth applying? Or you could contact the recruiter and see if they are prepared to offer it as a fixed term contract?
