Career change- too old?

I've been unemployed throughout lockdown but my working life has been in Education and healthcare.

I've just enrolled on an Access course in health and science professions so I can enrol next year to do a university degree in nursing.

I'm 43. Am I too old to make this change now?

I don't think so! I'm planning on going back to uni after I've had my second to do Nursing and I'll be 40ish by then. We'll be working til our late 60s so that's 5 odd years of career

25 years, not 5!

Thanks for the reply. I just worry that I'm too old to be starting all this now. But my kids are older now and I've wanted to do this for a long time but never had the opportunity.

In four years time you’ll be 47, you can choose to be 47 and a nurse, or just 47, which will happen anyway.
I did my training at 25 and there were people in the early 50’s the course. If you have the academic ability and the right nature then I don’t think your age would be any barrier at all.
