Advice coming back after furlough

Partner still furloughed, the company he works for has been using his holidays to top up furlough pay for last 2 months. He has asked them to stop this has he knows the place will be closing soon for a break & he would rather have holidays he's accrued used then, the company have said they can't do this.. is that true?
2nd they have also contacted today to say they are offering support to sister companies and would he be interested in a role over 60 miles away? If he says no is he risking getting sacked? If he says yes is he putting at risk time served etc for company who does employ him.

Do you mean he has been asked to use up some of his annual leave allowance whilst he in on furlough? If so yes, this is perfectly legal so long as he is given notice, many companies are doing this and quite sensibly.

I don’t understand what you mean by he would rather use them at another time when the office shuts down, do you men he will run out if he needs to use them then?

As they have asked if he is interested in the role 60miles way , it doesn’t sound like they are going to sack him if he says no. Whether he has the right to turn it down would depend on his contract and whether it has any mobility clause.

I would expect working for a sister company to be continuous employment, but he could always double check.

The office is closed after furlough ends so he wanted to use them then rather than that time being unpaid.
Good news about if he took the option. It wouldnt be like a whole new contract He is desperate to get back to the office although the new 120 mile round trip doesn't sound fun.

He doesn’t have that choice regarding the holidays, employers are entitled to tell employees when to take their holidays, so long as they do it correctly.
