Everyone fired or leaving around me

I work in a small office abroad, an offshoot of a larger company. We've just been through a second round of redundancies and are now down to handful of people. I'm gutted about those that are leaving, and I'm also depressed about what we have left - low morale, more work for the the
rest of us, being shunted into projects that are not my specialty and I don't feel suited to. I'm expected to take the lead from those who are left but I'm just so upset.

Any advice for those that are left? I'm telling myself to just put my head down and work to make myself as valuable as possible, because I can't afford to lose this job and there are not many other opportunities at the moment.

I was in sort of the same situation a few years ago (big changes, including redundancies, but people leaving were replaced so workforce numbers stayed the same).

Just put your head down, do the work, and try and find things outside work to compensate.
However, if its really unbearable, then you should try and look for something else whenever the opportunity presents itself.

good luck Flowers
