I was fired today

That’s it really, wasn’t a total shock but still self esteem shattering. I’d only been there 5 months. I’m not sure what I’m looking for really. I’m nearly 50 and scared I’ll never work again.

Fired for doing something you shouldn't or made redundant ?

Did they give a reason why?

Fired suggests you’ve done something wrong , or did they just let you go without the dramatic element ?

Im sorry this has happened. I am the same age as you and i need to find a new job - its scary

If you mean made redundant, do you qualify for any redundancy pay?
