Flexible working/return to work

Hello, I've just come to the end of a year of parental leave and am now returning to work. My employer is a private sector family business type of affair. I was previously on 4 days/week with a half day worked from home (0.9). When I started discussions about returning to work, I asked to return doing 3 days/week with a half day from home (0.7), they said fine. At the last minute I was told my boss would not authorise the half day from home (i.e. would only allow 3 days, 0.6), I was asked to fill out a flexible working application. I did this on the basis of going from 0.9 to 0.6 as they had suggested. I am now feeling a little disgruntled at losing the half day home working (which I will do anyway due to the nature of my work). The pay is still good but I feel as though I should have stayed on the existing arrangement. The business may be impacted by the Covid situation so I felt I should agree to what they said. They are flexible and have been very good to me in the past, which is why I wanted to be flexible in my attitude to them. There's nothing to be done now as I've already requested the change in writing but I just wanted to vent as it's been bothering me!!! Has anyone experienced anything similar or can advise? It's my first time taking parental leave from work so I have no practise at negotiating my way back in! Thank you in advance for reading this dull post! Smile Flowers

Withdraw the request. It hasn’t been finalised yet so your terms and conditions are still what they were before. If you’d rather stick with that, withdraw the request to change.
